JOY
Prayer for growth in joy.
We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. (Colossians 1:9-12)
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Prayer Focus: Lord Jesus, give me a deep assurance of your salvation so that I may always have joy.
Prayer Action: After some prayer, remain in silence for an extended period of time, reflecting on the gift of salvation and eternal life recieved through Christ. Allow time for joy to grow within you and close your prayer time with words of praise and thanksgiving.
Prepare For Sunday: Commit to going to bed at an appropriate time for good rest and let your mind finish the day reflecting on God's goodness and grace. You may even choose to use the music below to help you wind down. When you wake up in the morning, let your first course of action be to offer a prayer of thanksgiving and praise to God. Ask him to move mightily through the worship service today!
