The Legacy Vault: Homework Club
“Where future greatness is stored and built”
A student outreach initiative powered by mentorship, service, and community.
Purpose
The Legacy Vault is a community outreach program where young adults serve as academic mentors and community role models for local youth. Hosted at Legacy Church, this initiative uses tutoring, food, and relationship-building to help young students succeed in school and life.
Program Structure
- When: Thursdays @ 3pm-5pm
- Volunteers: Legacy Young Adults; Local Collegiate Student Athletes
- Location: Legacy Church of the Nazarene (Youth Room)
What Happens at Each Session?
- Homework Support:
Tutoring stations for:
- English
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Basic Language Help (French, Spanish)
- Meal Prep & Service:
Young Adults assist in preparing and serving simple meals/snacks for the youth.
- Mentorship Activities:
- Icebreaker games, journaling, leadership talks
- Video Games, Sports, Getting Outside
- Mentorship Pairing Program (optional follow-up connections)
Special Additions
- Legacy Journal Program – students track academic goals and growth
- Alumni Visits – invite athletes to return and speak
- Youth Event Tie-Ins – promote local youth nights or camps
