Pray for Illumination - Heavenly Father, help me to know your ways; teach me your paths and lead me into your truth. Amen.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.  Psalms 5:33

We often bring our requests to God midday – when we already are in the thick of activity. Maybe we have already received some bad news, got frustrated with a co-worker, fought with a family member, made a few wrong decisions... “God please help me!”

But David encourages us to speak our requests to God before the day begins. After a night of heart searching and rest, now we can prepare for what lies ahead.

Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make your way straight before me. Psalms 5:8

What would a day planned out with God look like? What potential areas of struggle can you preemptively secure God’s help with?

Heavenly Father, go with me through this day. May your wisdom guide me and keep me on the right path. Protect me from anything that would lead me away from you. I need your strength. Amen.
