Pray for Illumination - Heavenly Father, help me to know your ways; teach me your paths and lead me into your truth. Amen.

Read Psalm 48

Within your temple, O God,
    we meditate on your unfailing love.
Like your name, O God,
    your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;  Psalm 48:9-10

Gathering for worship has always been a part of my life.  Going to church Sunday morning and, in my younger years, going Sunday evening as well.  There has always been something special about gathering together to praise God and “meditate “on his love.  

Today begins VBS at our church.  Over one hundred and forty kids!  Many of these kids will not be coming from Christian homes or know about God’s love.  Even with the songs of kids camp still in my head from last week, I cannot wait for today.  My prayer is that every child has the opportunity to think about God and his love, to hear about Jesus Christ.  

Walk about Zion, go around her,
    count her towers,
consider well her ramparts,
    view her citadels,
that you may tell of them
    to the next generation.   Psalm 48:12-13

As loud as the songs will be, the songs in and of themselves are not what God is looking forward to hearing.  It will be the sound of child-like faith that will be beautiful to Him.  

For this God is our God for ever and ever;
    he will be our guide even to the end.  Psalm 48:14

Please pray for our VBS and kid’s programs everywhere, that they would be effective in sharing the love and beauty of God.
