Summer Psalms - On Psalm 21

July 21, 2022

Pray for Illumination - Heavenly Father, help me to know your ways; teach me your paths and lead me into your truth. Amen.

Read Psalm 21

The king rejoices in your strength, Lord.  Psalm 21:1

One of the most wonderful and fulfilling experiences in prayer that we can have is when we feel compelled by the Spirit to simply praise God for who he is.  It just feels good and right!

David, a powerful king in his own right, leads a nation, protects its people, and commands its armies.   And yet he is compelled to praise God for his strength, recognizing that every victory that he has belongs to God. He is God’s man.  Who he is and all he has is from God.

Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.  Psalm 21:5

This kind of praise puts life into proper perspective which allows us to live in peace and joy.  Consider today everything that you have been given and praise God for every good thing in your life.  Invite God to use you as his instrument of love in your world today.  And rejoice!

How great is his joy…       Psalm 21:1
